CD(DONA)

**I recently relocated to Provo, UT. And due to some unusual family circumstances, I won't be able to attend births until Spring 2009**

My Philosophy
Birth is a natural, normal and significant event in the life of a woman. Women's bodies are beautifully designed to birth and nurture their babies. I have a deep sense of awe and reverence for the entire process that turns women and men into mothers and fathers and couples into families.

My objective is to help both the mother and her partner have a satisfying birth experience as they define it.  I offer emotional support, physical comfort measures, an objective viewpoint and assistance to the couple in getting the information they need to make good decisions about their birth.

About Me
I've been fascinated with pregnancy, birth and babies for as long as I can remember. From a very early age, I listened intently to women's stories of their births and read everything about birth and motherhood that I could get my hands on. I came to understand that women have safer births and have more positive feelings about their births and motherhood in general when they feel nurtured, respected and supported. When I first learned about doulas, I knew I had to become one myself. I completed a bachelor's degree in Home and Family Life at Brigham Young University and became a DONA certified doula in August 2007.

I'm married to Joe, an incredibly supportive man who now knows more about birth than he ever cared to. Together we're the proud parents of two little boys, Lincoln and Daniel.
